Sky Studios Elstree is the UK’s newest, state-of-the-art film and TV studio.
Constructed across 27 acres of land in Borehamwood, Sky predicts the new studios will attract £3 billion of new production investment, over its first five years.
Watermatic worked with the Ground Control & BAM teams to design and deliver a sustainability focused, efficient and fully automated irrigation system which will support the growth and development of all soft landscaping. Incorporating pop up sprinklers to irrigate the lawns and dripline to deliver targeted watering to the planted areas.
Sky Studios Elstree has been awarded 95%, the highest sustainability score for any studio globally. A significant part of the sustainability rating for this site is the rainwater harvesting for the landscape irrigation.
Watermatic are now supporting the client with the ongoing maintenance of the irrigation system to protect their investment in soft landscaping for years to come.
